HomeForeign incorporation prices

The same S$650, plus two things

Forming the company costs a foreign founder what it costs a local. What usually sits on top is a resident director and a Singapore registered address, both quoted as separate lines.

How the fee works

Why the base price does not change

ACRA charges the same to register a company whoever owns it, and the formation work is the same set of documents. Foreign ownership on its own adds nothing to the S$650.

Two statutory requirements are what add cost. Every Singapore company needs at least one director ordinarily resident in Singapore, and the registered office must be a Singapore address open to the public at least three hours on each business day.

What moves the price

Where a foreign setup adds cost

None of the four below hides inside the S$650. Each one is a separate line on the quote, so the full first year sits in front of you before you decide to register anything at all.

A nominee director

Until someone connected to the company is ordinarily resident in Singapore, the resident director seat has to be filled by a nominee. That is an annual fee with a security deposit behind it, quoted per company because it follows risk rather than size.

A registered office address

The registered office must be a Singapore address open to the public at least three hours on each business day, and a PO box is not accepted. Address and mail scanning sit inside the Comply package.

Identity checks across borders

Documents issued outside Singapore often need certifying, and an ownership chain running through two or three overseas entities means checks up to the individuals behind it. More jurisdictions means more time, and the quote follows the time.

Whether you plan to relocate

A founder applying for an Employment Pass has a different first year from one running the company from abroad. The pass application, and the point at which a nominee is no longer needed, both change what twelve months costs you.

Prices exclude GST. The S$650 includes the ACRA incorporation fee. Nominee director and registered address are separate charges, written into the quote before anything is filed.

Common questions

What foreign founders ask

Do foreigners pay more to incorporate in Singapore?

Not for the registration itself. The incorporation fee, with the ACRA fee inside it, is the same as a local founder pays. The difference is what a foreign founder usually needs alongside it, which is a resident director and a Singapore registered office, each priced on its own.

Do I need a local shareholder or business partner?

No. The requirement the Companies Act sets is at least one director ordinarily resident in Singapore. Ownership is a separate matter from that seat, and a company owned entirely from overseas is ordinary. Anyone telling you to hand shares to a local resident is describing something the law does not ask for.

How long will I need a nominee director?

Until someone connected to the company is ordinarily resident here. For a founder relocating, that is the stretch between incorporation and an Employment Pass being approved. Where nobody is being placed in Singapore, the appointment renews year after year and the fee is annual.

Is my address overseas acceptable as the registered office?

No. The registered office has to be a Singapore address, open to the public at least three hours on each business day, and a PO box does not qualify. Filing deadlines and notices reach you through that address and through Corppass, so it has to be one somebody reads.

What does the first year cost in total?

The registration, then a monthly package, then the nominee if you need one. Comply suits a company with nothing to book, Complete fits once there are transactions, GST and staff. The nominee is quoted after due diligence.

Registration is the small number. Ask us to price twelve months including the resident director and the address, then set that total against anyone else's headline offer and see which one holds.
