GST e-Filing in Singapore: How to Authorise Users the Right Way
Let our experts ensure your team or agent is properly authorised and ready to file—accurately and on time.

As a GST-registered business in Singapore, staying compliant with IRAS filing requirements means understanding more than just submission dates—it starts with authorising the right users on Corppass to handle your GST matters securely and correctly.

At Expede, we guide businesses through this critical first step of the GST e-filing process, helping you avoid costly errors and ensuring seamless compliance from the start.

Why User Authorisation Matters

Before your business can file GST returns through myTax Portal, the person filing—whether it's an employee or a third-party tax agent—must be authorised for the "GST (Filing and Applications)" e-Service via Corppass. This requirement applies:

  • When your business is filing its GST return for the first time

  • When there is a change in the person(s) authorised to file returns

Without this authorisation, filing access will be restricted, leading to delays or non-compliance.

How to Authorise Users for GST e-Filing

Step 1: Log in to Corppass

Business owners or admins should log in to Corppass using Singpass.

Step 2: Assign e-Service Access

  • Go to “e-Services” section

  • Select "GST (Filing and Applications)" under IRAS

  • Add the user as either a Preparer or an Approver

🔹 Preparer can complete and save the GST return🔹 Approver can submit the return to IRAS

Anyone authorised to access all e-Services by default assumes the Approver role, which is crucial for submission.

Step 3: Confirm Authorisation

Ensure your appointed personnel or external tax agent receives confirmation and tests login access via myTax Portal.

Special Note: Third-Party Authorisation

If you outsource GST filings to a tax agent or accounting firm, your business must still authorise them via Corppass before they can act on your behalf.

Due Dates to Remember

  • GST returns are due 1 month after the end of each accounting period. For example, if your quarter ends 31 March, the filing deadline is 30 April.

Failing to file or authorise in time could result in late payment penalties or compliance flags.
