What Does the CSP Act Mean?
Under the CSP Act, any business providing corporate services—such as incorporation, nominee directorships, or company secretarial duties—must now be registered as a Corporate Service Provider (CSP) with ACRA.
This replaces the former Registered Filing Agent (RFA) framework. Even if your business was previously an RFA, you must register under the new CSP Act.
Transition Period Reminder: Businesses have until 9 December 2025 to complete registration under the new regime.
Key Changes in Regulation
The CSP Act introduces:
Mandatory registration with ACRA for all CSPs
Tighter anti-money laundering (AML) and due diligence requirements
Stricter compliance and reporting standards
Greater enforcement powers for auditing and investigations
These reforms align with Singapore’s efforts to strengthen corporate governance and prevent misuse of corporate entities.
Why It Matters to Singapore Businesses
Whether you're outsourcing corporate services or providing them, the official implementation of the CSP Act todaymarks a significant regulatory shift. Companies must now review partnerships, assess internal controls, and ensure all appointments and filings meet the new guidelines.
